NECA welcomes national licensing for electrical trades

The National Electrical and Communications Associations (NECA) commends today’s announcement by the Albanese Government that they will work with state and territory governments, and industry stakeholders to design a national licensing scheme for electrical tradespeople.

The introduction of a national licensing scheme for the nation’s electricians will not only assist with the issues associated with current skilled labour shortages, but will also help fast track construction and infrastructure projects.

NECA have long campaigned to have the unnecessary barriers prohibiting national licensing removed and stand ready to work with government on the design and implementation of this scheme.
