The NSW Building Commission has introduced the electronic Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (e‑CCEW), marking a major shift in compliance processes. From 1 March 2026, all CCEWs must be submitted digitally via the eCert portal—paper and PDF forms will no longer be accepted.

What You Need to Know

• Portal Live Now: The eCert portal is open for early adoption.
• Mandatory Digital Submission: Applies to all electrical work, including solar and battery installations.
• Compliance Deadlines: CCEWs must still be lodged within 7 days of job completion, now through the portal.

• Enhanced Safety Oversight: Digital records strengthen compliance with AS/NZS 3000 and relevant legislation.
