Join us for an inspiring evening celebrating the incredible achievements of women in trades across Tasmania!

This small, casual awards night is dedicated to recognising the talent, innovation, and hard work of females in the electrical and trades industries. It’s a chance to connect, celebrate, and shine a spotlight on the individuals and businesses making a difference.

About the Awards

We celebrate the outstanding achievements of women in trades across Tasmania. The Women in Electro Awards recognise the talent, hard work, and innovation that drive our industry forward.

By submitting a nomination, you help us highlight the individuals and businesses that set new standards for success and inclusion.

We invite you to recognise a peer, an employee, an employer or yourself. 

Your participation empowers our community and encourages the next generation of tradeswomen.

Selection Criteria

Review the categories below to find the best fit for your nominee. You can submit nominations for multiple categories if the criteria are met.

1. COMMITMENT TO WOMEN IN TRADES AWARD 

(Open to men and women) 

  • For proven action in hiring, mentoring and supporting women demonstrated efforts to recruit and retain women in the workplace 
  • measurable outcomes such as increased female participation, apprenticeship completions or career progression 

2. LEADERSHIP AND MENTORSHIP AWARD

  • For outstanding investment in apprentices and upskilling 
  • Strong commitment to developing apprentices or junior staff  
  • Consistent mentoring, coaching and knowledge-sharing  
  • Encouragement of training, upskilling and career progression  
  • Positive feedback or outcomes from those mentored 

3. RISING SPARK AWARD

For an apprentice, trainee or early-career electrician showing exceptional promise 

  • Demonstrates initiative, motivation and a strong work ethic  
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills  
  • Positive attitude and professionalism on-site or in training  
  • Early signs of leadership or going above expectations 

4. BEST WORKPLACE CULTURE AWARD (BUSINESS AWARD)

For a business leading the way and setting the benchmark for a positive and supportive workplace culture. 

  • Demonstrates a positive, inclusive and supportive team environment  
  • Strong focus on employee wellbeing, safety and respect  
  • Encourages diversity and equal opportunity  
  • Evidence of high staff engagement, retention or satisfaction 

5. EXCELLENCE IN TOOLS AWARD

For an individual demonstrating outstanding technical skill, workmanship and professionalism on the tools 

  • High standard of technical skill and workmanship  
  • Strong commitment to safety and compliance  
  • Reliable, efficient and close attention to detail  
  • Respected by peers, clients or supervisors for quality of work

Award Prizes

Scholarship for $1000 for professional development/training scholarship (Rising Spark) plus prizes.
