The National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) welcomes the appointment of Mr Adam Boyton as the country’s new National Skills Commissioner, a position which will see Mr Boyton take an important position in guiding Australia’s economic recovery through upskilling.

The National Skills Commissioner (NSC) will play a key role in providing the government with expert advisory and leadership on matters concerning the Australian labour market, current and future skills needs and also workforce development issues.

Oliver Judd, NECA NSW/ACT Executive Director and NECA spokesperson said:

“We are delighted to see Mr Boyton take on the role of NSC. This is a welcome step toward ensuring that Australia is consistently supporting our skilled workers, and more importantly, ensuring policy supports rebuilding and reshaping Australia as we recover from the COVID pandemic.

“Mr Boyton’s role will be critical in providing national leadership that will guide the direction of Australia’s tradespeople and NECA’s work. We look forward to working with Mr Boyton, as we share a similar vision of leading Australia’s economic recovery through skilled work”.
