The NECA TAS Women's Advisory are expanding, and expressions of interest to join the group are now open.
This Advisory group seeks to advocate for, promote, and provide strategic advice to support the growth and interests of women within the electrical and communications industry in Tasmania.
The objectives of this group are to:
- provide a voice and represent the concerns, interests and objectives of women in the industry;
- advocate for gender diversity and promote practices and policies to support inclusion and diversity;
- support career development via facilitating mentorship, training and professional upskilling for women in this industry;
- raise awareness of the challenges faced by women and what opportunities are available to mitigate these issues; and
- offer networking opportunities for women to connect across the electrical and communications industry.
The governance structure of the TAS Women Advisory is broken down into:
- Chairperson - representative of the group, ensuring all objectives are met;
- Deputy Chairperson - support of the chairperson and expected to step in when the chairperson is unavailable;
- Secretary - responsible for recording meeting minutes, communications and record maintenance;
- Members - actively participate in discussions and initiatives and are expected to advocate for the group's objectives within their networks.
