This month’s Risk Focus program highlights the significant challenges Gravity poses to electrotechnology workers.
Gravity-related hazards remain a significant concern for electricians working across a variety of environments, particularly when tasks involve heights, roofs, or handling heavy and unsecured objects. According to SafeWork Australia, 13% of worker fatalities between 2015 and 2019 were caused by falls from heights, emphasising the critical importance of effective safety measures.
This Risk Focus outlines the primary gravity-related hazards faced by members and the practical measures needed to mitigate these risks. By recognising and addressing these dangers, we can work together to protect lives and improve safety standards across the electrical industry.
