Mental Health Week Lunch

Building Resilience in Business & Trades

This Mental Health Week, we invite you to an exclusive lunch event dedicated to well-being, leadership, and resilience. This event offers actionable insights into managing mental health challenges within the workplace, particularly within the trades industry.

HEAR FROM INSPIRING SPEAKERS

We have assembled a diverse panel of speakers who will share their unique experiences with leadership, mental health, and overcoming adversity:

  • Ash Newth (TIACS): Sharing vital strategies and support systems for mental health tailored to business leaders in trades.
  • Steve Baker (ex-AFL player): Discussing the concept of grit over talent, navigating depression, processing loss, and harnessing true resilience.
  • Russell Robertson (ex-AFL player): Bringing valuable insights from the world of elite sports into everyday business and life.
  • Logan Barnett: Local female electrician and co-founder of The Go Company, offering a frontline perspective on well-being and diversity in the trades.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

If you lead a team or manage workplace health and safety, this event is for you. Connect with fellow professionals, gain valuable tools to support your staff, and enjoy a complimentary lunch in a supportive environment.

Mental Health Week Toolbox Talks

Bringing mental health support directly to your site

Mental health matters, especially in our hard-working industries. From Tuesday, April 21, to Friday, April 24, 2026, NECA and TIACS are proud to partner and deliver dedicated Mental Health Toolbox Talks to NECA members across Launceston and Northern Tasmania.

We know your time is valuable, so we bring the support directly to you. You can book a session for your team to take place right at your premises. Whether you want us there before the shift starts, after work finishes, or anytime in between, we will work around your schedule.

THE FORMAT: SHORT, PRACTICAL AN ONSITE

Forget long lectures. We offer a simple 15‑minute Toolbox Talk designed specifically for the job site. You will not face formal presentations or unwanted pressure. Instead, they focus on real, honest conversations about looking after yourself and your mates.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

During our quick visit, we will cover the essentials of mental health support:

  • Who TIACS is: They are a free, qualified mental health counseling service built specifically for tradies, farmers, blue‑collar workers, and their families.
  • How they support you: You get confidential access to qualified counselors who actually understand the daily pressures of work, life, and regional communities.
  • When to reach out: Early support matters. TIACS is here to help before things hit a crisis point, and whenever life starts to feel overwhelming.
  • Why TIACS exists: Too many people in our industries do it tough in silence. They exist to make getting help simple, trusted, and completely free of stigma.
