New General Manager for NECA Queensland
Today, peak industry body the National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA) officially welcomed Mr Guy Houghton as the new General Manager for the NECA Queensland Chapter.
Mr Houghton was appointed as General Manager of NECA Queensland on 1 September 2010 and is eager about the opportunity to serve and grow the membership of the peak electrical industry body in Queensland.
“I am excited at the opportunity to develop the communication channels with our members, suppliers and to expand the suite of services offered by NECA and its partners,” Mr Houghton said.
“As Australia’s peak electrical and communications industry body, I’m not scared of doing the heavy lifting on behalf of the industry. I am keen to ensure all Queensland electrical and communications professionals are up to date with industry relevant information.”
“NECA is the only peak body that can supply true national representation lobbying on behalf of its members and during these times of change and opportunity I believe it is critical for all professionals to be aligned.”
With over 25 years experience in the electrical industry across all levels of management, Mr Houghton has previously held the position of General Manager Sanyo Australia, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of consumer electronics goods and components. In addition, he held the position of Chief Executive Officer for BSL Group, a leading service provider to the consumer electronics industry.
Mr Houghton is a keen supporter of junior rugby league and loves spending time on Morton Bay. More recently he participated in the property boom in Queensland and was involved in developing small scale projects.
“I’m a proud Queenslander and enjoy my footy and fishing. I look forward to working with existing and new Queensland members in my new role as General Manager of NECA and demonstrating to them how we can assist to make their business even stronger,” Mr Houghton said.
