Group Training Companies

Group Training Companies provide a liaison point between apprentices and employers. They work to create career pathways for new apprentices in the industry while assisting employers through the development of quality skills and experiences for young workers in the electrotechnology sector.

NECA-related Group Training Companies, which are located throughout Australia, currently select and employ approximately 2,000 quality apprentices in electrotechnology. These apprentices are then employed by electrical or communications contractors for an agreed period, in accordance with their workloads, and as and when they need the extra resources.

For employees, Group Training Companies work to ensure that apprentices and/or trainees are continuously employed and receive a wide range of on-the-job experiences.  At the successful conclusion of their course, the apprentice or trainee is awarded a national qualification.

For employers, Group Training Companies make available a pool of talented, work-ready apprentices with a high level of skill, while easing the worries of long term employment contracts.  Using Group Training services enables businesses to better manage the human resource requirements to cope with the peaks and troughs of the work.
