Congratulations to Downer EDI Engineering Power

Downer EDI Engineering Power was awarded the contract for complete electrical and instrumentation installation for the Boddington Gold Mine Expansion project. A significant challenge was that all construction disciplines were expected to work concurrently and work fronts were only opened as they became available, meaning rapid response to manning level requirements.

Another challenge was managing client variations. This was efficiently done using Downer’s RATPAC tool to analyse and track all contract originals and variations. By completion Downer had installed approximately 503,000 metres of high and low voltage cabling and recorded over 1million man hours. An outstanding result delivered on time, on budget and with nil defects.
