Strategic Plan 2012-2015

PURPOSE
Our ‘purpose’ expresses who we are as an organisation and why NECA exists:
The peak body representing and strengthening our industry*.
* ‘Our industry’ means specialist contractor businesses offering the installation, repair and maintenance of electrical, communications, security and allied systems.
VISION
Our ‘Vision’ is a statement of what we aim to achieve by implementing this three year Strategic Plan. We express our Vision for the next three years as:

Four values guide how we think and act:

Loyalty
These values define:
- How we interact with our members;
- how we communicate with each other and
- our approach to decision making.
Implementation of this Strategic Plan 2012-2015 is expected to:
- Deliver more value to members.
- Lead to NECA being better positioned competitively.
- Help strengthen NECA as an organisation.
- Support better integration of efforts across the organisation.
- Allow economies of scale to be better leveraged.
- Guide strategic leadership of NECA.
The Planning Process
The process which led to the Plan’s development was initiated by NECA’s National Council in the 2nd half of 2011 when our National CEO was authorised to lead and sponsor development of a multi-year Strategic Plan.
A small working group comprising office bearers and senior staff together represented all NECA entities. The working group met face to face four times between mid February and early May 2012 in Sydney or Melbourne and progressed the work using technology mediated communications at other times. A key aspect of working group members’ responsibilities was to consult with staff in their home office and with their boards.
